This one is really important. As recruiters, we see 100s of CVs per day and it can become difficult to build a profile on a person if all we have to work with is writing on a piece of paper. So it is fundamental to show willing, enthusiasm and some tact when interacting with a recruiter/hiring manager. The candidates that shine are those who take time to prepare and approach a recruitment process with a targeted strategy, from application through to offer/acceptance and starting your new role. It is important to engage with your recruiter and keep communication levels high, enabling transparency and full disclosure on any and all relevant information throughout the process. In addition to the way that you engage during a recruitment process, it is obviously important to make sure that your relevant work experience is clear and visible for us to see. Keeping your experience up to date and going that extra mile to stay in tune with market trends/new tech is always going to earn you extra brownie points too.
