IT Director

Greenfield has been engaged by a global business who offer innovative and ground breaking products and services to their corporate customers.

They run a federated model and we have been asked to identify an IT Director to run effective and efficient IT operations in the UK – reporting to the EMEA CIO.

UK IT Director – key areas of responsibility;

  • Delivering IT service and operations to the UK business – Full P&L responsibility.
  • To lead, direct, manage and develop a team of internal I.T professionals (30 on shore)
  • To manage complex matrix-based resources including Service Operations, Infrastructure, Architecture and Security maintaining oversight in order to ensure stable and successful operational and delivery or project performance
  • The efficient operation of a number of external Offshore Development Centres who are building and customising software products for UK customers.
  • Responsible for offering high level strategic pre-sales support to customers  – RFP responses, up to and including involvement in bids, or other cost estimation work.
  • Ensure compliance to internal and external requirements – Such as SOX ITGC and ISO27001.

Tactical and Operational – Responsibilities

    • Direct local resource scheduling operating cadence and escalate where appropriate any significant conflicts, shortfalls and issues.
    • Ensure suitable compliance resource is aligned to upcoming internal and external audit activities.  Direct the production and monitoring of suitable remediation plans in order to resolve compliance issues.
    • Support, review and actively contribute to EMEA PMO – reporting for all local projects.
    • Responsible for producing the UK’s monthly I.T Finance Report
    • Inspire, mentor and encourage work colleagues, sponsors and customers to apply intelligently customised industry best practices.
    • Set expectations and career paths for all members of the local team members to follow and to set performance goals accordingly.
    • Monitor and manage operating SLAs & KPIs including but not limited to service, operations, availability and project delivery.

Strategic – Responsibilities

  • Support the EMEA CIO with assessment of the cost and impact of locally deploying regional or global applications. Ensuring the smooth deployment and ongoing operation of such Global Applications into the local business and operation in collaboration with the appropriate matrix teams.
  • Support local execution of strategic I.T organisational transformations.
  • Review, propose and direct the execution of transformation activities in order to improve the operating effectiveness and efficiency of external Off Short Dev suppliers and practices.

Core skills required

We see the ideal individual as having a strong IT Leadership and Business Management background, with experience of supplier and vendor management.

Extremely well developed customer facing and stakeholder management skills with regards to relationship building, communication, influencing, pre-sales, expectation management and conflict management.

Polished communication of complex I.T information to all operational audiences including external customers.

A leader of people either direct or indirect with a wide and broad understanding of prevailing enterprise scale technology platforms

We foresee this person currently working for a company that delivers B2B technology centric products and services to major Retail, Manufacturing, FMCG or Distribution clients nationally or internationally.

Salary – £85K Plus 8K Car and circa 10% Bonus
